Bring a Little Pink Bubble Magic into Your Day with 3-Day Virtual Backgrounds

We’re using video conferencing for everything these days — work meetings, happy hour hangouts, birthday parties, family gatherings, classes and more. So why not add a little Pink Bubble spirit to your video calls? The 3-Day team created some backgrounds you can use to pink up your calls with a 3-Day twist! Revisit the magic of the Pink Bubble, the way life should be every day — kinder, more joyful and FUN — as you use these 3-Day backgrounds.

We’ve created seven different 3-Day-themed backgrounds for your video calls. You can put yourself in the middle of the 3-Day Pink Bubble tenets, take that work call in the middle of a Closing Ceremony shoe raise, or put yourself on a beachfront 3-Day route at your next happy hour hangout.

These photos are sure to spark some wonderful memories or get you excited for what’s to come. The backgrounds are also a great conversation starter and opportunity to share what the 3-Day is all about with the other people on your video call.

It’s easy to add a 3-Day background to your next video call. Simply right-click on the image and save it to your computer. Then, follow the video conferencing platform’s instructions to add that 3-Day love to your next video chat. These backgrounds are free and available for anyone to use.

Follow the hashtag #3DayTogether on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter to see what else we’re doing to keep the Pink Bubble feeling thriving all year long.

St. Patrick’s Day Fundraising Ideas

Top o’ the morning to you, 3-Dayers! St. Patrick’s Day is coming up this weekend, and we want to bring you as much luck as possible for the big day. With that in mind, we have simple fundraising ideas to help you make the most of this holiday! By spreading extra luck and 3-Day love this week, you might just hit your fundraising goal ahead of schedule.

Hold a “Go Green” Bake Sale

Bake sales are always a classic technique, and with the weather getting warmer (hopefully), there are plenty of fun, outdoor spots to hold one! Put a simple twist on favorite treats, like adding green sprinkles to the tops of brownies or dying sugar cookies green. Another fun idea is to dye Rice Krispies treats green and add Lucky Charms to the mix for a little marshmallow fun!

Use Lucky Local Connections

Work with a local restaurant or coffee shop to have a special on St. Patrick’s Day with proceeds going towards your team! Lots of places will already be running holiday menu items, so capitalize on that to help the 3-Day cause. They might even be willing to re-name a special in the 3-Day’s honor!

Get Social!

Update your Facebook status and ask your friends to send you some “Luck of the Irish” by donating $7 or $70 to you on the holiday. This is perfect for last-minute fundraising efforts, because every donation makes a difference, no matter how small.

Send donation letters with St. Patrick’s Day jokes

Give your normal donation letters an upgrade by adding holiday stickers, writing or printing your letters in green, and opening with a fun St. Paddy’s Day joke! Need some ideas? We have you covered…

What kind of bow can’t be tied? A rainbow!

What do you call a fake rock in Ireland? A sham-rock

Why do frogs like St. Paddy’s Day? Because they’re always wearing green!

Give St. Patrick’s Day themed manicures for donations

Most people have plenty of manicure tools at home that you might not use, but you certainly can put to good use! Buy a few extra polish colors or nail stickers, and invite your friends over for at-home manicures in exchange for a 3-Day donation. They’ll leave with pretty new nails, you’ll be closer to your fundraising goal, and a fun time will be had by all!

Host an “Over the Rainbow” viewing party

Although “The Wizard of Oz” isn’t typically thought of as a St. Patrick’s Day film, you can still use it to take your friends and family over the rainbow with fun. Have them over for a movie night, and start with a “preview” video of photos from last year’s event, and remind them they can still donate to your cause!

3-Day September Fundraising Calendar

photo

In September, we will be walking in the Seattle 3-Day! As fall approaches, it’s the perfect time to get in some final fundraising for your fall 3-Day, or even get a jump start on your 2018 fundraising! Luckily, we have plenty of ideas to help you get started.

First, make sure you are encouraging your donors to send you mail and sweet treats if your 3-Day is this month! They can also come cheer you on along the route! All the needed information can be found in the Spectator Info section on our website, listed here for the next two events:

September is Better Breakfast Month and Self Improvement Month, which are great for training and fundraising ideas:

  • In honor of Self Improvement Month, look at what goals you have for September. Whether that includes goals for the 3-Day, or otherwise! Write down your goals for miles walked or dollars raised or local events attended and stick to it. Writing goals down can be a helpful reminder not to miss a walk or send out another round of letters!
  • In honor of Better Breakfast Month, get your team together for an early morning weekend walk, and then host them for a fun breakfast afterwards! Or, make easy on-the-go breakfast packs to give to donors when they hit a certain dollar amount. It was help them start the day on the sunny side.

There are some workshops happening this month. You can find the complete list on our website here. We will also be calling out more local events on our Facebook page, so keep an eye out. Also, don’t forget to follow your local coaches’ page for more information and inspiration!

September Fundraising Calendar 2

Other key days this month include:

  • September 10: Swap Ideas Day: Fundraising is an ongoing effort, and sometimes a little creativity can help! Talk to your teammates, post on the 3-Day message boards, or ask you coaches for new ideas. We also have 101 Fundraising Ideas on our website!
  • September 13: Fortune Cookie Day: We hope your fortunes are always sunny and bright – and you can share the same wish with your donors! Fortune Cookies are easy to get from your local Chinese restaurant, so attach your own “3-Day Fortune” with inspiring quotes to the cookies, and drop them with your donors as a thank you! Need ideas? Check out our Inspiration Page for quotes, statistics and fun images.

  • September 17: National Women’s Friendship Day: You love your friends and they love you! They’re the family you choose, so reach out and remind them about your fundraising goals for this year and even next. You could get your next big donation, or even recruit a pal to walk with you on your 60-mile journey.

  • September 21: World Gratitude Day: “Thank you” are words you can never say enough, especially to your donors. They support you before you even attend the Opening Ceremony, and help us raise such important funds towards research and local efforts by Susan G. Komen. Remind them how important their donations are on World Gratitude Day! Thank those who have already donated, and share with those who haven’t yet, just how far their donation can go.
  • September 28: National Good Neighbor Day: Be a good neighbor, and help raise money for your 3-Day walk! Offer your services near your home for chores like mowing the lawn, raking leaves, cleaning windows etc. for donations. Don’t forget to wear your 3-Day pink while you work to spread awareness!

Also, make sure to join our 3-Day Social Stars! This is an easy-to-join group that’s part of our social media community, where you can earn prizes for interacting with the 3-Day on social media. Talk, connect, and share with us! You can also pick up good fundraising ideas from your fellow 3-Dayers.
