While most walkers are from Ohio or least the surrounding states, all seven “Gilmore Girls” have traveled from California, Florida and Washington to honor their mother and grandmother who passed away from breast cancer 15 years ago. Before beginning their first Komen 3-Day ever, they met to visit the grave of this special woman in Elyria, Ohio. “We’re walking for her and my other grandmother who is a five-year survivor,” said Melissa, a granddaughter, at pit stop 1 this morning, which happened to be bright and sunny after last night’s torrential rains. Rae, Michele, Terri, Monica, Melissa, Celeste, and Meghan make up this happy sisterhood. Best of luck on Day 2 of the Cleveland 3-Day, ladies!
